Ever think, eh, I’ll risk it. I’m not payin’ that much for nothin’ to happen. Been there. Regretted it too. Our warranties hold their value. This means: if you don’t use it in 5 years, you can put that money on any unit that is equivalent to the purchase price of the unit.

What does that mean? So let’s say you buy a $999.99 refrigerator with a 5 year $199.95 warranty. If anything goes wrong, then you’re covered for that service call for parts and labor. And if something goes really wrong, you also got some food coverage for $300. Awesome!

However, we sold you a dang good ‘fridge. So nothing went wrong all those years. Now, you can walk in the store and purchase anything for $999.99 and get $199.95 off the price! So if you’ve needed an excuse to buy a new wall oven, or maybe one of those fancy beverage centers with the glass doors — use that warranty money!

Issues with Finish Coating

Love the refrigerators features. My only complaint is that the finish began to peel away. LG was great about arranging to have the issue fixed. Not sure I would have made the purchase if I knew that the finish could peel.

We like the fridge but parts didnt last a year.

I have had the fridge just 7 months and we had to replace the freezer fan luckily we still have the warranty for the first year not sure how long it will last. My previous fridge lasted 15 years from a different brand hoping that we didnt make a mistake switching.

Our unit is less than four years old already had problems with icemaker and now compressor bad within 3 1/2 years. Customer service was very hard to deal with numerous phone calls and lots of time placed on hold.

The tray in the freezer was broken within a year. I should have request the replacement under the warranty but I was too busy to do so and now the plastic drawer is totally broken. The doors are sometimes not closed tightly. I should have gotten the side by side refrigerator in stead.

Weve had this fridge for over 2 years and personally I wished I had gotten a side by side fridge. The fridge door always fails to close properly unless you be sure to push it closed and it seals. It seems like it may be the gasket but when I used LGs chat the rep S.p.A. there was no recall on the fridge and conveniently cut me off the chat before I could finish our conversation. So overall Im not impressed with this model.

I Love my new LG Refrigerator

I needed to replace my old refrigerator and looked a long time before I decided to purchase this LG. I went from a side by side to the 3 door and love having so much more room. This refrigerator has so many great features. My old refrigerator was top of the line when we purchased it but nothing compares to this model. I love the door in door changing the water filter is so easy and I do not need to turn off the water to do it. This is a very quite and awesome refrigerator.

Great if everything works properly.

Ive had this refrigerator for a little over a year. My refrigerator stopped cooling and freezing out of no where. Compressor doesnt seem to be working so i contacted LG Customer service. They were very nice and said a tech was going to come take a look at it. Hoping they can repair it so I can have my refrigerator back and running. Other than that this refrigerator is amazing. Love that it has 2 ice makers and I am able to view what i have inside through the window.

Lots of thoughtful new features and updates

We replaced an LG refrigerator from 2006 which held up for quite a while but developed many issues. Were happy to report that their current offering is much better constructed and incorporates a number of innovations. The shelving in our old unit was flimsy and broke easily. The new shelving seems much more durable. There is greater flexibility in the shelf arrangement which allows for less wasted space. It is nice to have access to ice both in the freezer compartment and though the in-door dispenser. The door-in-door feature is clever but Im still getting used to it. Some features like LED lighting are meant to reduce overall energy consumption. My primary concern with an appliance purchase is how many years I can get useful service from it. My understanding is that most applicances are designed to give 10 years of service so our previous LG refrigerator far exceeded that metric. We could have kept it in service longer but found the sale price for the new one to be irresistable. After one month of use we are hopeful that we can keep this one around for more than 10 years.

On less than 6 months the water filter compartment has been replaced 3 times due to leaks and closure issues. Both ice makers malfunction due to freezing lines . Currently waiting for another warranty service call that is taking over 30 days to schedule.

Buyer Beware

I have had my LG refrigerator for 10 months. At the ten month mark the evaporator fan motor went out rendering this unit completely useless. I immediately contacted LG so I could get it fixed under warranty only to find out that there is no authorized service center in my area. This was very maddening because before purchasing the unit their website showed there was. I guess LG doesnt find it important to keep their website updated. Its been almost a month now with no resolution in sight. I cant even put into words how angry and frustrated I am. For a month now Ive had to rely on coolers and ice to keep my perishables and medications safe. Im so past my breaking point that I ordered the part I needed from another supplier. This was of course after asking LG to send me the replacement with no response. Even though this LG refrigerator has all the nice features I wanted I could not in good conscious ever recommend this brand to anyone. In addition to the refrigerator the stove and microwave purchased at the same time have started to have intermittent issues. Those reviews are for another time. I ask you is it reasonable to be without a refrigerator for a month or more? Maybe if you purchase an LG you should have another brand as a backup.

We had this LG refrigerator for approximately a month now and so far it is working as expected. It has a lot of space the two ice machines are working great the water comes out fast and you can fill a bottle easily. We all like the door within the door which allows us access to milk drinks etc. without having to open the main doors. It was a little costly so I hope it continues to work five years from now as it does now. I did purchase the five-year warranty just in case. So far I would definitely recommend it.

We bought this 2 years and worked great until the compressor failed and solenoid broke because of plastic parts and also contaminates the internal system making it non-repairable by local service shops. LG makes you wait 15 business days to come to a decision to maybe reimburse you.

Love this fridge

WE bought this refrigerator a few months ago and love the convenience of the door in door. We store our most used items there and dont have to open the entire fridge to get creamers hot sauce milk or juice. I wish the shelves were more interchangeable. We dont have space for tall items inside the fridge. We had to remove a shelf and store it in the pantry. We tried to re-use the shelf we removed inside the fridge and it wont fit anywhere else. That is frustrating and annoying. There needs to be a better design so that you have one large space for tall containers. Otherwise this is a great french door refrigerator. The freezer is perfect for a small family.

Wonderful large refrigerator

I bought this almost two years ago and really love it. It is similar to a 3-door I had in my previous home. I especially love the door-in-door feature as I use it to store water bottles plus other beverages and a few condiments. I have also utilized the bottom ice maker when I was hosting a large party. Otherwise the ice bin in the bottom drawer is used for extra food storage. I just did not think to measure before buying it and it barely fits in the space I have for it. Make sure you measure

I purchased the refrigerator in June and finally arrived in August. the black stainless steel refrigerator looks nice in my kitchen. The refrigerators appealing feature is the view-in option. I place the items I need often in this compartment. It is the most logical and efficient update to a refrigerator. I love it I also appreciate the ability to knock on the glass to see if I need to add anything to my grocery list. The only down side is that it does not connect to my 5G Wi-Fi internet. This option needs to be update.

Defective unit

We purchased this and had delivery in February 2021 and had issues with it freezing food. Many parts have been replaced after approximately10 scheduled service call and after the brain was replaced the refrigerator now has an error code and will not produce water or ice from the door AND freezes food one day and runs fairly normal another. LGs reputation is not what its claimed to be and they do NOT stand behind their products as we still have this and they will not replace it. All we want is our $ returned and a new refrigerator After 17 months its only fair

We bought this in November. The knock feature is fun for all the kids but the outer door is great for everyone to quickly get drinks etc. The water and ice maker work well and consistently. The fan went out in June and stopped cooling. Were having to replace it many issues trying to get it repaired so theyre refunding us but we will buy the same model again.

I have had this refrigerator for 22 months. It was working great and looked beautiful in the kitchen. THEN. One day I noticed water dropping from the door ice and water dispenser..Then I noticed that the frozen food was starting to thaw..Long story short both the refrigerator and freezer assumed room temperature. I lost all of the food in both refrigerator and freezer. This was 2 weeks ago and it still has NOT been fixed. The repair man installed a new compressor and dryer and it was faulty. Repairman having trouble getting a new part I love the unit . Just want it fixed so I can continue to enjoy it.
